MCF CLUB OFFICIAL LAUNCHING AT JAMISA JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, BRIKAMA 23/05/2016
On the 23rd of May 2016, Mentor a Child Foundation (MCF) embarked on a school sensitisation on career development planning, whereby, emphasising the important role of MCF. MCF plans to guide students through mentorship and future career planning, enabling them to achieve their dreams and not just fade away. Mr Lamin Dibba of MCF presented on the importance of choosing a career path at an early school going age, therefore, planning well ahead and knowing the requirements needed to be fulfil for the career choice. The vice principal of Jamisa Junior Secondary school, Mr John Gomez, welcomed the noble idea and promised to join hand in gloves with the foundation to positively steer this noble cause and to see the students achieve their dreams. In the same vein, the vice principle appointed two competent and career motivated teachers, namely Mr silva, Mr Saidykhan, to be the coordinators and student mentors for the MCF school club. Refreshments were provided to the attendees and informal networking was conducted during the break time, for familiarisation. At the end of the session, students were given the opportunity to raised questions concerning the founding and the benefits of MCF and the newly launched MCF club in the school. Mr Dibba of MCF informed the students how MCF started, what the mission and vision were and how they can be benefitted in MCF activities. Mr Dibba further relayed to the students about the enrolment process to MCF clubs as well as planned future activities and events. Senior members of the school teaching team and official volunteers from SUNA technology and institution Creative Minds Association witnessed the MCF Club launching. In his closing remarks, Mr Dibba thanked everyone for taking their time and effort to attend the event and reassured them that, MCF will work tirelessly to accomplish what have been started. He reiterated that MCF welcomes everyone; in shaping the career plans of the future generation.
